I came across these budding lilacs today.
They are so tight and small, only a faint hint of what is to come.
I remembered that they would be there, against that wall.
Those lilac beginnings granted me a sense of belonging, a sense of belonging that includes a concrete wall on the edge of a parking lot in May.
